The Griffin pub sent 2009 out with a bang. Loads of Fromeites flocked to their favourite boozer to see in the New Year. Our resident pharmacist kicked the evening off with his weird and wonderful choice of tunes, before the Boothill Allstars hit the stage. They played their original hoedown of Somerset hill-billy. DJ Ohead headlined, bringing a fantastic mix of psy-trance and and dub tinged space-rock. Dancers were still going till the early hours, and a fun night was definitely had by all.
Fantastic news- The Griffin is runner-up in Business of the Year category.
“A pub in town that has seen trade rise despite the current economic climate and the smoking ban. It also gives up-and-coming bands and singers a chance to showcase their talent”
Double celebrations, as I’ve come runner-up in Business Woman of the Year category for Somerset Standard’s People Of the Year awards- woo woo!
“As manager of The Griffin, Charlie has ensured that the pub in Milk Street, Frome has a high profile in the town as well as raising lots of money for a number of charities”
Here’s to us!

A copper coloured beer with a smooth mouthfeel. The bitterness is well rounded and the aroma is herbal and reminiscent of blackcurrants.
An ideal spring beer.
