De La Luna late night session

charlie May 20, 2010

This Saturday we have the brilliant De La Luna DJS playing their wicked selection of music from all over the globe.  Expect Balkan beats, French hip hop, Latin electro and Eastern beats.  Best of all, they’ll be playing until 1am.  But don’t forget to arrive before 12am, as there’s no entrance after.

Get FromeFM on FM!

charlie May 5, 2010

Frome FM serves Frome in Somerset and nearby villages.  It has been broadcasting 24/7 on the internet for nearly 2 years and is staffed by over 80 volunteers who make programmes and help behind the scenes day in and day out.

OfCom regulates licences for the government. They are considering offering more 5 year FM radio licences for community stations and FromeFM want to take this opportunity.  An FM licence will enable FromeFM to make it’s wide range of programmes available to the widest range of listeners.  OfCom ask for candidate stations to demonstrate that they have community support.

If you would like FromeFM to be available to you on ‘normal’ FM radio as well as on the internet then sign up here.  Come on, support the local community station.

Birthday Bash Big Success

charlie May 3, 2010

Those those of you who managed to squeeze into the Griffin for the hugely popular Savouring Somerset Beer Festival this weekend, you don’t need me to tell you what a success it was.  A hell of a lot of beer from all over Somerset was drunk, and some fantastic music was played.  On Saturday the Wheel of Four Tunes was a blinder (for those who can remember!).  Don’t worry if you missed them, I’m sure they’ll be back….

Check the Griffin page for more details about upcoming events
